Tuttle's Centennial Celebration!

Mark the dates!Mark your calendar now for June 17, 18, and 19, 2011. Over the next year this section of our Website will be used to share important information and, as we near the celebration date, will serve as the Information Center for detailed plans and events.

With your help, this section will also evolve into a treasure chest of memories of families, businesses, organizations, and events that formed the tight-knit community of Tuttle over the past 100 years. The plan is to collect the information and enjoy it on this Website; and then finally compile it into a Tuttle Centennial Celebration book. With that in mind, it's never to soon to begin sharing your family's history, and histories of the past and current business and organizations that have come and gone throughout Tuttle's 100-year history. Everyone is welcome to share, and it is up to you whether you would prefer to share your family's history from the beginning, or continue the history from the last Tuttle Anniversary book that you submitted a history (50th, 60th, or 75th Anniversary book). There is no right or wrong history; simply share your family's story as you see fit. Please, begin adding your information as soon as possible. While June 2011 seems a long time off, collecting and compiling information covering a period of 100 years is a time-consuming process.

Your ideas for the 100-Year Celebration section are welcome and may be emailed to: webmaster@tuttlend.com

"We the undersigned Citizens of the town of Tuttle and Vicinity do hereby present before you the following Petition and pray that such petition will have your kind and prompt attention, if such a request can be a possibility.
1st. We pray to have you build us a DEPOT at said town of TUTTLE, as the business that is being done fully warrants it; for instance six weeks ago there was only one building on the Townsite, and now this has increased to 1 General Store, 1 Land Office, and Post Office, 1 Pool Hall, 1 Restaurant, 1 Implement Shop, 1 Blacksmith Shop, 1 Livery Barn, Lumber Yard, and 1 Coal and Wood Shed being under construction, with possibilities of a number of more business places going up if the Rail Road Facilities are in better shape..."
