Business Histories
Col. William P. Tuttle

Tuttle Mercantile Company

... thinking that it would be a good opportunity to make a living for his children and and to have them near, Jeff [S.P. Boileau] decided to build a store in Tuttle. This was a general store with supplies of all kinds, foods, canned meats, clothing, hardware, gas, kerosene, etc.

In those days the stores wold be open from early in the morning until late at night, and then lots of times Jeff would just get to go home to rest when somebody would come needing supplies at once. There was no such thing as a ten hour day for him. (taken from the 1961 Tuttle 50th Anniversary book - see book for complete article)
